Care home & healthcare slip testing in Southampton

Older and less mobile people slip more easily and are hurt more seriously when they fall. Proving your floors are safe is a core part of your duty of care.

UKASACCREDITED

Every test by a UKAS-accredited technician

We provide the full range of slip resistance test methods recognised by the HSE, building control bodies, insurers and the courts. Every test is conducted by a UKAS-accredited technician — so your results aren’t just a reading, they’re evidence that stands up to scrutiny.

Floor safety as part of your duty of care

Wet rooms, en-suite bathrooms, shower areas and entrances are the highest-risk surfaces in any care setting — and the ones inspectors and insurers look at most closely. A slip that would bruise a younger person can cause a fracture for a resident.

Our UKAS-accredited testing gives you objective evidence that your floors meet recognised safety thresholds, supporting CQC compliance and reducing the risk of avoidable harm.

Barefoot areas matter: bathrooms and shower rooms are used barefoot, so we test with the Slider 55 barefoot rubber to reflect how the surface is actually used.

Residential and nursing homes, supported-living schemes, GP surgeries, dental practices and clinics across Southampton, Eastleigh and Hampshire.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Do you test bathrooms and wet rooms barefoot?

Yes. For areas used without footwear we test using the Slider 55 barefoot rubber, which reflects real-world use and gives a true picture of slip risk.

Will an accredited report help with CQC and insurance?

Independent, UKAS-accredited evidence demonstrates you’ve taken reasonable steps to manage slip risk, which supports CQC compliance and is recognised by insurers and the courts.

Is testing disruptive for residents?

No. Tests are quick, quiet and confined to about a square metre, and we schedule around residents’ routines to keep disruption to a minimum.
